Changelog

Material changes to the products, the public experience, and the trust controls — dated and categorised.

Last updated

  1. Public siteWorkspace

Premium product pages rebuilt, and one shared workspace shell

The Reconova, DocForge, and SpecTrace marketing pages were rebuilt on one design system, and the signed-in products moved onto a single workspace shell.

    Added

    • A shared marketing design system across all three product pages: premium hero, workflow rail, interactive product previews, use cases, and free-versus-paid comparison.
    • PremiumWorkspaceShell: one set of product chrome — switcher, navigation, plan and usage summary, account menu — shared by every signed-in product.
    • Deep links from the DocForge product page into a pre-filtered template gallery.

    Improved

    • Product pages now derive their limits, template counts, and operation counts from the code that enforces them, so published numbers cannot drift.
    • Each product's accent colour is now driven by one token, so its marketing pages and its workspace match by construction.

    Fixed

    • The DocForge product page advertised ten starter templates while the library had grown to ninety-one.
    • SpecTrace showed a 'Sign in to use SpecTrace' error on its public page, where being signed out is the normal state.
  2. SpecTraceWorkspace

SpecTrace workspace and a shared tool-UI library

SpecTrace gained a real multi-view workspace, and the three products started sharing one set of interface components.

    Added

    • A five-view SpecTrace workspace — overview, projects, comparisons, review history, and usage — replacing a single long page.
    • A shared tool-UI library: usage meters, empty and error states, upload queues, processing status, export dialogs, and data tables, used by all three products.
    • Profile photo uploads in account settings, stored in object storage and re-encoded on upload.
  3. Platform

Email delivery consolidated, and queue processing made reliable

One email transport replaced the previous split, and background queues moved to scheduled draining.

    Added

    • An automatic acknowledgement when you submit the contact form, so a message no longer disappears into silence.
    • Scheduled workflows that drain the delivery and notification queues on a fixed cadence.
    • Server-side content caching and event-driven job status polling, cutting repeated requests while a job runs.

    Improved

    • Transactional email now goes through a single provider rather than two paths with different failure modes.
  4. SpecTrace

    SpecTrace review workflow completed

The full review loop shipped: work through findings, record decisions, and export the record.

    Added

    • Findings review with confirm, dismiss, re-rate, and annotate, and a decision recorded against each finding.
    • CSV and structured JSON export of findings and decisions, including source versions, document fingerprints, coverage, and the stated limits of the method.
    • A direct Pro checkout flow.

    Fixed

    • Session state flashed briefly in the workspace before the signed-in state resolved.
  5. SpecTraceDocForge

SpecTrace launch, DocForge rendering engine, and guest sessions

SpecTrace became publicly available behind its flag, with malware scanning and OCR in place, and DocForge's rendering engine gained barcodes, watermarks, and dynamic assets.

    Added

    • SpecTrace: document change intelligence — structural comparison, extraction and comparison workers, plan cards, and published pricing.
    • SpecTrace guest sessions: start a comparison without an account, with the work kept in your browser for 7 days.
    • DocForge rendering engine support for barcodes, watermarks, and dynamic assets, plus a system template library and template gallery.
    • CloudWatch metrics, alarms, and a dashboard for the worker fleet.
    • An hourly scheduled job driving retention and maintenance cleanup.

    Fixed

    • SpecTrace now explains why a specific version could not be compared, instead of failing silently.
    • Scan backlog metrics counted rejected and unstarted uploads, overstating the real backlog.

    Security

    • Uploaded SpecTrace documents are quarantined and malware-scanned before anything reads them; nothing is extracted, compared, previewed, or downloaded until a clean verdict returns.
  6. PlatformDocForge

Unified admin console, DocForge public API, and consent mode v2

Administration moved into one permission-gated console, DocForge gained a versioned public API, and analytics adopted Google Consent Mode v2.

    Added

    • A single admin console with per-permission gating and an audit record written for every action.
    • A versioned DocForge public API with API keys, signed webhooks, an OpenAPI description, a playground, and a generated Postman collection.
    • Google Ads conversion tracking, kept off private and workspace routes by design.

    Improved

    • Consent handling now uses Google Consent Mode v2 signals.
    • Scheduled jobs that nothing had been invoking are now actually scheduled.

    Security

    • Closed a server-side request forgery hole in Reconova outbound webhooks.
    • Local development processes can no longer apply migrations to the production database.
  7. DocForge

DocForge governance, delivery, and document lifecycle

Approvals, role-based access, reliable delivery, and structured data landed across several releases.

    Added

    • Fine-grained role-based access control, version-bound approvals, and audit governance.
    • Reliable delivery with retries, saved workflows, and document lifecycle management.
    • Structured data support, saved field mappings, and a document library.
    • Repeating tables, pagination, regions, and addendum overflow in the rendering engine.
    • Secure dynamic assets and document controls, including draft and test watermarks — free on every plan, because marking a non-final document is a safety feature rather than an upsell.

    Improved

    • Editor usability, accessibility, and performance, including split bundles so the workspace shell loads light.
    • Blog images migrated to object storage.

    Fixed

    • Continuous integration was not installing worker dependencies, which had been masking integration test failures.
  8. Public site

    Homepage redesign and product positioning

The public site was reorganised around discovery, and the platform's four layers were named consistently.

    Added

    • A homepage organised around free discovery, premium progression, privacy, and business outcomes, with real product previews.
    • Product, workspace, solutions, and pricing overviews using consistent naming.

    Improved

    • Repetitive popularity feeds were replaced with outcome-based tool collections.
    • Advertising was reserved for positions after meaningful free-tool content.
    • AI became a labelled capability rather than a separate product category.
  9. Platform

    Launch correctness and trust controls

Claims across the site were scoped to the experiences where they are actually true.

    Added

    • Automated sitemap, route, and rendered-content verification.

    Improved

    • Free, no-sign-up, ad-free, and processing claims were scoped to the specific experiences where each is true.
    • Ad-eligible public routes were separated from premium, private, authentication, and customer routes.
    • Consent and advertising eligibility controls were brought into line with each other.
  10. Platform

PDF processing moved onto the device

PDF handling stopped using a server entirely.

    Improved

    • PDF handling moved fully into the browser, with no file upload to any server.

    Deprecated

    • The earlier cloud PDF processing path was retired, so documents stay on the device.
  11. Workspace

    Private tools delivery pipeline

The full request-to-delivery path for custom tool projects.

    Added

    • Written scope, versioned quotes, online payment, and project tracking from request through to delivery.
    • Private tools delivered inside a hosted, ad-free workspace with passwordless customer sign-in and team access.
  12. Platform

    Private custom tools service

A paid custom-build service alongside the free public tools.

    Added

    • A paid service for custom tools, workflows, and web builds, with transparent pricing and a manually reviewed request process.
  13. Platform

    Managed content platform

Tools, categories, and articles moved onto a managed content system.

    Added

    • A managed content system with an administration dashboard for tools, categories, and articles.
    • The policy framework covering acceptable use, content, cookies, and copyright.
  14. Platform

    Version 1.0

    The first full release.

    Added

    • An AI-assisted career tool suite.
    • Trust pages for accessibility, security, editorial policy, and authorship.
    • A spam-protected feedback channel and consent-aware advertising.
  15. Platform

    Initial launch

    Motifuse went live.

    Added

    • A searchable tool catalogue with category navigation.
    • The SEO foundation: sitemap, structured data, canonical URLs, and search-engine submission.
