Every cookie and browser-storage key Motifuse sets, what each is for, how long it lasts, and how to change your choices.

In short
- Nothing optional loads until you consent. Analytics and advertising scripts are not fetched at all if you decline.
- Workspace, admin, authentication, and checkout routes never load analytics or advertising, whatever your consent choice.
- The essential items are a sign-in cookie, a SpecTrace guest cookie, and a record of your consent choice. Without them, signing in and remembering your preferences would not work.
- The free public tools work completely if you decline everything optional.
What we store, by name
Cookies are only part of the picture, so this table also covers local storage — the mechanism most of our preference and draft data actually uses.

Third-party entries are set by those providers, not by us, and their durations are theirs to define. They appear only after you consent, and only on the public pages where they are permitted.
What the categories mean
- Essential — the site cannot do what you asked without it. Signing in, staying signed in, keeping guest work attached to your browser, and remembering that you declined something all fall here. These are not subject to consent because refusing them means refusing the feature.
- Functional — remembers a preference or a draft so you do not lose work or repeat a choice. Stored on your device; we never read it from a server.
- Analytics — optional. Aggregate measurement of which pages and tools get used.
- Advertising — optional. Serving, measuring, capping, and protecting the ads that keep the public tools free.
Consent and how to change it
On your first visit you are asked to accept all, reject everything non-essential, or choose categories individually. That choice is recorded on your device and respected on later visits, so you are not asked again.
To change it, use the Privacy choices link in the site footer. It reopens the same consent manager with the same options. You do not need to clear your browser data, and withdrawing consent takes effect immediately — scripts you declined are not loaded on the next page you open.
Where a Google-certified consent management platform is enabled for visitors in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, that platform collects and manages advertising and analytics consent instead of our own banner, and the footer link opens its options screen.
What happens if you decline

Managing storage yourself
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies and site data, either globally or for one site. Doing that removes our first-party items too, including the record of your consent choice — so you will be asked again on your next visit.
For advertising specifically, you can also manage personalisation in your Google Ads Settings, independently of anything you choose here.
Changes to this policy
This page is updated whenever a cookie or storage key is added, removed, or changes purpose. If a new optional category is ever introduced, it will be off by default and will appear in the consent manager before it is used.
